Day 17 : Christmas in France 🇫🇷 vs in England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 : Christmas Day

Hello it’s Hannah here

I have lived in France for 7 years and it is very apparent that Christmas in France is very different to in England.

Christmas Day : on Christmas Day  in England we used to go to see our  family or they would come to us , either way it was rarely just us on Christmas Day . We would hang our stockings on doors knobs all over the house mostly on our room doors . When we went to visit our family , everyone would be in my aunties house and we  brought everyone presents . The parents would be in the kitchen and our cousins would be in the lounge. There would be presents open and rapping paper on the sofa . one year we went to midnight mass .

In France we have been alone most of the years  (except when granddad and mums uncle came ),  the Christmas stockings would be on the sofa with names on . There would be one for mum and dad ( I always thought they should have one each ) . We would wait for mum and dad to get up because they didn’t want to get up at 6 o’clock 😂.  We would start  making dinner , I always love helping in the kitchen with Christmas music on . After  Christmas dinner everyone, stuffed with food would sit on the sofa to watch a Christmas film . Most of the presents would be gone by 4 (except mums and dad ) .
